Defining diabetes mellitus can become complicated so we just want to touch upon what is to important to keep in your mind. Diabetes means large amounts of urine passing through the kidneys. Mellitus means sweet as in sweetened with honey.

Not being active. Even though you are tired, do you just come home and sit in lounging chair and not move? Influencing factor? Could be!
Polycystic Ovarian Disease-Pregnancy! Are you following your physicians recommendations?
High Blood Pressure? Have you and your physician had numerous talks about taking off weight? Monitoring your blood pressure better.
The above are just a few things that can influence your journey toward being a diabetic.
Doctors today talk about pre-diabetic, Type 2 Diabetes, Type 1 Diabetes and when you become pregnant, the need to watch what is going on in your body is doubly important as gestational diabetes can occur.
Diet, Diet and diet again. Some thing that a lot of diabetics do not understand and neither do their families. Diabetic instruction is so important, but even more important is to take it slowly so you really understand the effects, bad and good on your body. Dieticians, physicians, educators, have all worked hard to try and make it easier for the public, especially those who do the cooking to do understand the Diabetic and what can happen to your blood sugar with your diet.
Sit down with a dietician and find out what is good in your case. The amount of fiber, grains, carbohydrates to spell out a few things. Don’t forget portions!!
