February!

Used to think what a terrible month to have a birthday in FEBRUARY. I really did not think many people were born in February. As I got older I did finally meet some very nice people who also had birthdays in February.

Imagine thinking the only thing exciting as you were growing up in February was Ground Hog Day!! I honestly can’t remember much exciting! Maybe basketball started I am not sure. Did not even understand at that time.

Never did find Valentines Day that exciting. Husband and I always shared valentines with each other, but honestly as we got older they were not so important. What was important was how we treated each other, were we able to discuss things in a good supportive manner and not end up yelling at each other.

Were valentines really important? Yes I guess they were when you had a bad day at work and came home to a wonderful valentine on the table and a nice cooked meal. You see he liked cooking and I think I hated it. Maybe because he worked such crazy hours and we did not have microwaves until a bit later. Always was warming up something in the oven.

Anyway February is almost gone! I did have a fun filled birthday and got taken out for a great, great steak dinner, got to Mass on Saturday evening and then had dessert at my house with family. Dessert was angel food cake, strawberries, whipped cream and some had ice cream. Chocolate syrup also. We had a very relaxing, fun evening. As my birthday was actually on Ash Wednesday this year, our son got some cheese pizzas to eat. Thank you. Again it is all about not having to cook.

All of you who have birthdays in March Happy Birthday early.

Take care and be good to yourselves and others.
