Celebrate ! Father’s day, my day or everyday.

Right now let’s celebrate Memorial Day and then of course Father’s Day.

Happy Father’s Day

What a treasure for Dad.

Father’s Day, Daddy’s Day, PaPa’s Day!

Mother’s Day here and gone. Lots of people came up with creative ways to celebrate Mother’s Day inside as the weather here was lousy. It was cold and rainy and most of us stayed inside, not even wanting to go out to a restaurant to eat. Indiana’s weather is very unpredictable and up north, they had snow early , then rain and finally sunshine . In Missouri it rained all day and family said they had a fire in the fireplace, watched a movie and had their picnic inside rather than going on their hike as planned.

Father’s Day will be here in no time. What are you planning for that day? Here are some good ideas from Amazon that might please the man in your life. Go for it!!

Making sure Dad has time to play golf if that is his passion or if he just wants to learn. (tee time needed). Remember to tell him what time he needs to be back to share some of Father’s Day with family. No clubs check here. Just learning don’t spend a fortune.

Grilling, does he love it and enjoys cooking? How about new utensils for the cook of the house.

What about a new book? Mystery, Politics, War or Historical. Maybe something non-fiction. How about good book used for relaxing during this day or for a relaxing evening instead of TV.

You are thinking of giving a gift to one of your very best friends. A friend who is always there through the scary, unpredictable, sometimes catastrophic things of life. What about Alexia. A thoughtful gift that can be used in any room in your home. Playing favorite memorable Christmas carols is so relaxing.

G

What about surprising one of your nieces , nephews or just a very kind teenager you know with a set of Harry Potter books. Maybe you know someone who has never read the books and would just love to receive them. What about bartering for a job done such as babysitting for a sibling X number of times. Think about what would really help you in your very hectic, hectic schedule.

A thoughtful gift for the amazing chef in your life, man or woman. What would they think about an instant pot? Think would it help with the planning and getting meals on the table at a reasonable time, before everyone is really cross, because they are hungry. Think, Think how can it help you also with everything that has to be done. Be creative. Add kitchen hot pads to the gift or some nice new kitchen towels.

Holiday crafts to think about!

Almost five months to Christmas. That sounds so bad, but time is just flying by. It is not on cruise.

Get crafty even if it is not something you do on a daily basis. Look in children’s magazines, craft books and books that read easy to do!! Why! Why would you want to do that? Because you want to save money on Holiday spending this year, so becoming more #talented#creative and #crafty may be the answer for you .

Your gifts don’t have to be huge just something done by the family, or by the children or by you for someone special in your life. If you are a crafty person, use up some of the craft supplies you have left in your special room. You know the one where all your art and sewing, or crafty supplies are hiding.

Some thoughts to get you thinking :

If you are a knitter, what about mittens and scarves.

How about making a lid gripper. Get some shelf liner. Cut in approx. the size of a hot pad 6″ by 6″. Single crochet or double crochet around the edges and you have a lid gripper. They usually last 1-2 years and then the grip may not be quite as good.

Sewing, just a beginner no problem, just purchase some fabric with a holiday theme. Be sure you get enough fabric to cover your table and hem it. Do double turn so the hem looks nice, and professional.

Use scraps of colored paper from your children’s craft projects, make a kaleidoscope picture, add pictures of your children, put into a frame. Such a wonderful gift.

What about a small scrap book? Don’t buy new, use up what you have.

Be crafty and be frugal this year. Next year you will want to have a budget in place to help you pan ahead.

Books to enjoy! Christmas and every day. Updated.

Reading is such a wonderful way to pass the time, especially when you are really bored. There is nothing like a good book. My husband who is visually impaired loves reading on his Kindle. The font is enlarged and that is a God send. I believe he has read all the james Patterson books, John Grisham and numerous other authors, he enjoys. he is always looking new authors.

Low and behold he is now reading the Harry Potter books, starting with book #1. He has never read one before, so we shall see what he has to share when he finishes. Many members of our family have read all the Harry Potter books and watched the movies. I personally read the Harry Potter books a long time ago.

When the day is done and you are just bored, turn off the TV and find a book that you can read and enjoy. What about a book report on something fun, light and happy to share with family

members.

Check out Amazon for some books to read and enjoy.

Essential Oils and diffusers.

Every thing you read these days talks about the growth in the essential oil arena. So much to absorb and so many companies out there. If you are among those of us learning, jump on board. I have several blogs about essential oils and their benefits. Also information about safety, how to use and when to use cautiously. Learning how to make blends and asking for feedback from those who are using them.

In my diffuser I am using Christmas spirit essential oil from Young Living and absorbing the wonderful smell. Not a heavy aroma, but a nice light almost citrisy smell.

Take a few minutes to relax, look at some new diffusers and be ready to try some new essential oils as we welcome in the new year. Try Young living essential oils to help you relax, to help with your sleep, to help with anxiety, to help with studying, to relieve sinus pressure , just to name a few things. Diffusers are available also.

Gifts for the kitchen, good any time of the year.

Kitchen Aid mixer. We have had one for years and it is a joy to use. Cleans up nicely. Never had a problem with it. The one I am giving you as a suggested gift is black onyx. Other colors may be available. The black one has a sophisticated look.

Husband really would like a new Kuerig that can make Cappucino’s. Looking at this one trying to evaluate the pros and cons. If you consider it be sure and read all the information and the reviews. Personally I have loved both our other Kuerig ‘s . Easy to use. Great advantages to a cup of coffee almost immediately. Good way to start the day.

What about a nice new set of knives for the kitchen? What do your pots and pans look like? How about some kitchen towels that match and have no holes in them. Consider a new spice set or just a nice assortment of new utensils, that don’t look really crappy looking in a short period of time. Mixing bowls if yours have been broken. Just suggestions when your mind is a total blank.

What about a nice radio to put on your kitchen counter to enjoy while you work. It doesn’t have to be a television, be different. Now this is what I call different.

Gift guide for young boys and girls.

Lego’s always a favorite. Looking at garage sales in the summer they are always considered a great find. Wonderful gifts for birthdays, holidays , just a special treat anytime. Fun without a phone or TV. Go for it.

You can never go wrong with the Harry Potter theme. Let them have fun even if they are not old enough to read Harry Potter yet.

What about the Avenger’s. Can not forget the Avengers.

Jurassic World Baryony Face. Again fun for the young one. Actually all children enjoy playing with Lego’s.
