World of sharing ideas?

What a cutie! Sharing picture to make you smile.

The world of sharing sometimes is not very nice, but sometimes you find sharing is great. A good example is blogging. Just think how amazing bloggers are with sharing their ideas, courses and other thoughts.

It is awesome what the internet has to share these days and new ideas are being developed as I am writing this. Sharing is what is important. How you share even more important. Think about this:

  • Do you share with an open heart?
  • Do you share because you find it a challenge, that you want to meet?
  • Do you share what’s on your mind in a manner that is not demeaning?
  • Do you share because sharing is what you value?
  • Do you share because you want to learn also and you know others have great ideas ?
  • Do you share what you have learned, morally, spiritually and intellectually?
  • Do you share the above in a non-threatening, interesting, learning manner without anger?
  • Do you share what you have learned without becoming a potty mouth?
  • Do you share by becoming a volunteer and sharing your experience?
  • Do you share all you can about your pets and how you take care of them?
  • Do you share your parenting experiences? grandparenting experiences?

Hope the above gave you some food for thought and makes you get busy instead of sitting around mopping about nothing to do. Find something worthwhile to do. Remember millionaires started slowly and worked hard at low paying jobs, while pursuing their dreams.

Jobs, jobs everywhere. Dress for success!

Updated 8/4/21

Success should be a number one priority in any job interview. Otherwise why would you want to go and be interviewed. Looking at my boards on Pinterest, I noticed one outfit that was saved repeatedly.

A beautiful, classic, fabulous outfit including accessories. It is a skirt, blazer sweater all coordinated in rich colors of brown and rust, with a wide belt , a big gold buckle on it. Tights, fashionable boots and a great handbag. Please go and look at my fashion board at http://www.selectionsfrombarb.com.

Reason for the blog, it made me think how many people do not dress appropriately for a job interview. Really rather sad when you think about it. So here are some tips:

  1. Don’t wear jeans, shorts, clothing that is too tight, skirts that are too short, tops that allow too much cleavage to show. May not bother you but would certainly bother the interviewer.
  2. What about beards, long hair and tattoo’s? Not going to touch that one, but how about washed and combed hair and beards. Does your beard need trimming? What about a haircut? Maybe cover some of the tattoo’s, your preference.
  3. Women, use good taste in your makeup. Moderation, maybe a nice toned down but pretty look.
  4. Make sure your shoes are clean and polished. Can wear a nice boot if outfit you are wearing is appropriate for boots. Cover your toes, even if you think your toenails are beautiful. They may be but may be a No! No! Depends on what type of job you are interviewing for.
  5. Casual may be very appropriate for some interviews. How about khaki pants and a cotton work shirt, and shoes, instead of jeans, a tee shirt and flip, flops.
Some fashion ideas from years ago!

Good luck and I hope some of my suggestions help you. You can find numerous suggestions under how to interview, and what to wear job interviewing.

Blogging and what is working?

Finding your niche!! Finding your niche!! Sounds like the start of a poem, but it isn’t as I am surely not able to compose a poem. Most of my thought processes have been put into finding my niche.

Are you having the same thoughts, what should be my niche and where should I go from here. All of a sudden you have this wonderful idea and think oh that would be a great niche. You think I will go right out there and do some research, and oh my goodness there are many blogs with the same idea you had.

So how do you find your niche. What are your ideas for finding your niche? Have you thought about all the things that you really are attracted to? What are your hobbies? Gardening, Landscaping, Woodworking, Writing, Art, and Sports. Maybe you are interested in politics, religion or television. What ever you determine is your niche or become really interested in, write on it. Focus on it.

When writing try to focus on one thing at a time. Do not jump around, but keep on target. You need a beginning, middle and an ending.

Life style is about the closest I can come to having a niche at this time. I can still pursue reflections on health, family, blogging and essential oils, under this umbrella.

Reading the books I read many years ago.

Reading many of the older books I loved years ago, only now they are e-books and I am using a Kindle. So wonderful. When we could not go any where much during the pandemic, that Kindle was a saver. Extra special in our home was that my husband can make the font bigger on his kindle and read also. It has filled alot of hours for him.

Dick Francis, now deceased wrote so many wonderful books especially centered around horse racing and all the drama, excitement, fun, tragedies surrounding the lives of those involved in horse racing. Some of them I just could not put down because, I couldn’t remember the ending and wanted to know what happened. Some endings I did not like, but most of them I thought were fair and well thought out. Don’t know if racing is still so well attended in England now, but his books really reflex how horse racing used to be.

Another author I have enjoyed is David Balducci. Again I enjoy some of his hero’s /heroines more than others. Right now my favorite is Amos Decker. Such a good series. Start with Memory Man. The struggles of a good man, trying to stay a good man and live with the impediment he has, and also come to terms with the tradegy in his personal life.

Also reading about essential oils. Many interesting books to take advantage of and learn more about essential oils. Never too late to learn.

Essential Oils, don’t forget to use them.

Essential oils can be used neat or put into blends, but you need to understand, which oils are capable of being used as stated above. Neat means the oil can be used alone. Blends are the oils which can be mixed together.

When using essential oils always remember less is more. Essential oils can be very powerful. It is very interesting to learn about them. When I read an essential oil article I am looking for how well the author can express themselves and how great their understanding of essential oils is.

I am certainly no expert but I am always trying to learn. Amazed when the light bulb goes off and I really get it.

Essential Oils can be an adventure for you. If you decide to try them, then be sure you don’t forget to use them. When someone tells me how anxious they are, how stressed they are, how much pain they are feeling, my suggestion is to try an essential oil. The biggest problem is the person keeps forgetting to use them. You at least a week to determine any benefit. Benefit good, you will want to continue with the essential oil.

Always consult with your medical professional if you have serious medical problems, or are pregnant.Do not use essential oils if you are pregnant. Don’t forget to include your mental health professional. Your health is very important and as we age we all realize how precious it is

One day at a time! My motto

Updated from a previous blog on my website.

Enjoy each day and event in your life. Each wedding, birth, each birthday, school plays, dance recitals, ball game, volley ball game, soccer and lacrosse game. I know I missed something important, but what I am getting at, treasure those memories! Do a scrap book, let your child do a scrapbook . Remember the little tickles, stumbles if you will, that make each event so memorable, so much fun.

Thinks of these things, the forgotten line in the play, your child a few steps behind at the dance recital, the strike out at the ball game, the tackle that wasn’t made, the goal that helped the other team win, the pets that died. Life is such an adventure.

What can you do?

Be the biggest supporter there ever was for your child/children.

Teach your child to remember it’s not winning that is important, but how you play the game or dance the dance.

Be a good example as a parent, not one of those who yells at the volunteer coach or umpire. You don’t want everyone to go, Oh No when they see you.

Remembering with those you love later in life is so enlightening. Adult children share with you things you never thought were important. Something you thought so trivial , your child, now an adult, will tell you what a wonderful event it was. Cherish those moments. Life is an adventure and you can’t go backwards.

One day at a time!

Changes to help alleviate stress.

Stress, are you overcome by the stress in your life?  Do you think you can not handle another day like the one you just had?  Dirty dishes, laundry, kids not behaving, car not working right, rain and more rain, bills to pay. You get the picture.

How can you help yourself?   By becoming more organized!  You say to yourself, boy I have heard that before and I tried to do that but it did not work.

My question to you is how long did you really work on it?  Really work on it!  Write down what you want to accomplish and why.  What difference will it make in your life?

It does work, but it takes lots of consistancy, persistence and fortitude.  It takes you saying to yourself, I can do this and i a going to do it.

Try to pick one thing each day that you can accomplish. Even if it is a small thing. For me that would be giving the bathrooms a cleaning.  Then daily making sure that they are maintained.

Make your bed daily, even if your bedroom is not picked up.  It is a start toward becoming organized.  Then focus on getting clothing picked up, laundry done, maybe not all done, but at least a load a day.  Your goal is to wash, dry, fold and put away.

Involve your family in your move to become more organized.  Don’t become discouraged, keep plugging away.  Show them you are not going to stop.   Meeting with resistance, just stay focused on your goal/goals.

Meal planning, grocery shopping and cleaning the kitchen.  Always a job.  Clean that kitchen right away after meals.

Pain, pain!  You are right it is a pain, but once you see you are making progress, you will feel so good and you can really get better at organizing your blogging, printables, sewing projects, and volunteering for some charitable project.  BE READY TO ENJOY FALL!
