Signing Off on a Boring Week

Almost finished with my second children’s book which has really been a fun one to create. Tell you more later.

This week has not been productive for me at all. I spent most of the week looking at the blank television screen. Complicated by spending way too much time on the telephone trying to get a technician out to the house. For some reason, the appointment that was set up was cancelled. Of course, no one remembered to call and tell me that it was being cancelled, and no one knew why it was cancelled.

It took me back to the frustration of television “signing off” at midnight. Back then, the TV showed graphic stripes and sometimes played a tone indicating programming was over for the day. I even recall waking up on the couch after midnight to find that graphic and hear the tone. I was irritated that TV had closed for the night. Imagine how I was feeling when no TV for a week!

Now with no television to watch, one would think I would get loads done, but I seem to function better with the television on. I need the noise and comfort of those familiar shows and iconic actor voices. Do you work better with the television on? I would love to hear from you. I tried to listen to the radio but found that it did nothing to motivate me.

Then I tried to get some weeding done in the flower beds. After about 20 minutes, I had to stop because I was hurting all over. So now I moan and groan every time I get up and down from my chair. Each day, my gardening pain gets a little better. Next week will be better, I am hoping.

Don’t forget Father’s Day coming up. They may not all be perfect, but so many try so hard and are not always appreciated. So reach out to the father figures in your life with a kind word, a hug, and some time just for them.
