How to better handle the stress in your life.

Update from a blog posted last year on selectionsfrombarb.com. What a great title as it is so appropriate at this time in our lives. We are really trying to challenge the obstacle’s that are raising their little tiny, maybe bigger heads into our lives.

It is so easy to say oh you need to do this, you need to do that, but much harder when you have to focus on each of obstacle’s one at a time. It is like taking 10 steps ahead and the next week you end up moving back 20 steps.

TRY DOING SOME OF THINGS LISTED BELOW!

  1. Stop avoiding the things that give you the most stress. Put them on a chart or buy one as I am sure you can find one on Etsy or even find a free one.
  2. Start now to lay out those issues in front of you. Then work hard to get rid of the biggest stressors. Only you can do that, only you know what is going on inside of you. You have to decide what is bothering you the most, and impacting your life negatively.
  3. You have to be honest with yourself and with others when you are annoyed, angry, and sad about what has been said.
  4. What do you do when you have some leisure time? Sit in a chair and worry about what is already worrying you? How about some exercise when you have spare time. Even something as simple deep breathing exercises. You know the old saying in with the good air out with the bad. A short walk even around your home three or four times to start out.
  5. What about a good humor board? Add a picture to it that tickles your funny bone. Add a picture that one of your children drew. Look for new things to make you laugh.
  6. Don’t forget to ask for help daily from the Lord above. Don’t just do it once. Small steps forward can be small answers from the Lord helping you move. So move!
