Halloween Bingo

Halloween Bingo fun for everyone. The evening is cold and wet. Everyone is concerned about trick or treating. So how about some fun at home for the young and old playing Bingo together. Halloween Bingo.

Decorations are all planned for the evening anyway. A visit to the Dollar Store or the costume shop was a huge help there. The pumpkins have been carved and setting on the front porch for all to view and enjoy.

Of course you have to have snacks with lots of fun things. Not just candy but cheese, salami, and some vegetables. A nice skeleton or a witch or two to share the good time. Halloween plates for all the goodies.

  • The Halloween Bingo has 3 Master Sheets. Blank so all you have to do is lay your markers on them.
  • Download 2 sets of Bingo cards. Use one set for playing and the other cut up glue onto cut up poster board, or some type of card board. Use the cut ones for markers on your master board.
  • There are 12 Bingo cards. The cards are labeled 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b etc. You can use corn or bingo markers to put on the numbers. You don’t want to use regular markers because you want to use your bingo cards again and again.

We can’t forget prizes!! Think about putting them on a table and letting each person pick out their prize when they win, or if you think your family will respond better to them being wrapped, go for it.

Since this is so late for this year, take your time and set it up properly. You will be all ready for next year. Set it up to last for a few years. Put it away where no one can find it but you. HAPPY HALLOWEEN.

Autumn with the trees changing colors fast.

Been a rainy weekend and beginning of a new week, not particularly cold but rainy. The trees are turning colors fast. Vibrant colors orange, red and yellow. Means there will be many leaves for some to rake. Lots of out doors work to be done. Raking, weeding, trimming, planting and for some of us we still have grass to get mowed.

It is so wonderful to watch the little ones walking in the leaves, trying to pick them up and move them around. Such delight on their faces. It must be wonderful to believe that much and enjoy things you do. It is a time to smile with them and hug and love them.

Good time to also get out your to do list. Instead of focusing on the holidays, just plain work on your house and get things taken care of that you have been putting off. How about your garage? Is it ready for the winter? Think about coming right into your garage in the bad weather. Look at things in the garage that are just waiting for you to make up your mind to do the proper thing like throw away or donate. I hope you are not someone who leaves things by the road side. Talk about helping the environment!

They always say if you have not used something in a year then get rid of it. It always depends on what that something is according to my way of thinking. It may be something I will always need. Don’t think like me, just begin and start pitching.

Do clean the garage if nothing else gets done right now. It will help with the coming season and give you a good sense of accomplishment

Essential Oils, a journal would nice.

Considering giving essential oils a try? It is alot of fun and certainly benficial to some. It all depends on what you are hoping to achieve.

I began using essential oils very slowly and now I’m really excited about learning more. Knew absolutely little about essential oils. Now use a diffuser with lavender at night to help sleep better. Some nights it works absolutely wonderful for me, but on other nights doesn’t work at all. Why?

Does the difference lie in what kind of a day, I had? Lazy and relaxed or very hectic with lots of stress? A day where nothing gets done? I honestly don’t know but since I don’t have small children I can’t use that as a stressor.

No matter what I want to continue to work and learn about essential oils. Work with people who are trying essential oils to find out if they are getting any good benefits . So I have an essential oil journal that I hope will help us all determine how and what essential oils benefit us and even why.

Fall is a good time to begin using essential oils as there are many essential oils that smell lovely and this is such a fun time of year for scents.

Stress, Are you stressed or not?

How do you define stress? How do you handle stress in your life? Do you recognize it?

Do you consider the following signs of stress:

Bitting your nails?

Overeating?

Unable to sleep?

Are you motivated to change.

I am an over eater. Not the eat healthy things, good for you types of food, but things like chips, candy and desserts. Food like noodles and potatoes. Good old comfort food.

OK you recognize yourself, a bit in what I am saying and know some type of plan is needed to change. A terrific, fabulous, entertaining, well I am going a bit overboard on this plan of action here.

Begin by what you consider setting some reasonable goals for example, instead of losing 10 lbs this next month, try for 5 lbs. Your goal is to really focus on keeping the weight o

Get the junk good out of the house. Keep your menu’s simple.

Don’t try the diet of the month or the most expensive diet. Try salads and more vegetables, but do things in moderation.

You can find menu’s listed in almost every book, magazine, on every cooking show. Find and do menu’s that you like and re-do them as you work toward your one small goal.

Stay motivated, keep it simple, be thankful for small improvements. Remove stress slowly, lose weight if that is what you want or just begin to feel better overall. One day at a time

Hello Everyone! Hope you are surviving all the news?

If you never paid attention to the new before, you certainly should right now! Of course you will never know for sure what is real and what is not. Our world has certainly changed and you wonder from day to day what is going to happen next.

Thinking about what we can do as individuals to remain sensible, learn as much as we can if the subject is going to impact us or not, listen to both sides of an argument and define for yourself what is important

It is so important we all listen to what our children are telling us about the world around them and what they believe or what people are trying to get them to believe. How closely are you monitoring what social media is telling them, or the shows they are watching on TV or the games they are playing.

We all understand day to day living is not going to be a walk in the park or a piece of cake. Some days it does not matter what you do, things just are not going to be fine, especially where children are involved. What matters most is how you learn to survive those days without losing it totally. Sounds so easy but it is not and you have to grow into the practices you want to use to help those in your family, especially your younger ones .

Here some things you might think about and do if at all possible:

Take time to sit and talk with your children, listen carefully to what they are telling you. What is real and what is not.

Learn to think about what you say before you say it.

Practice what you preach. Talking about what you are going to do and not doing it means nothing.

Watching television and you find it objectionable to you, think about why you are letting your children watch.

What is going on at the schools your children attend? Do you attend conferences set up for you and interact with the teachers?

We all know that some people tend to lie very easily these days and not think a thing about it. If that would happen to be you, make a pact not to do that. You want to be known for your integrity.

The news is distressing , but we can all work harder to make the world around us better to live in.

Traditions

We all grew up with traditions, some we really like and enjoy. Here were some of our traditions, getting up running to see what Santa brought. Making kieffles ( They are a Hungarian or Polish delicious delicacy that are very hard to stop eating). I really believe they are Hungarian. We used to bake them starting the day after Thanksgiving and it was a long day. Stopped making kieffles as family grown up and most have no time to help. They were a tradition. Easter egg hunts out the back yard when the weather was grand. Planning the big wedding, getting married and having a family. Eighteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren and we are still growing.

Making quilts for the grandchildren. They were not big quilts but almost the size of a twin bed. That tradition has been passed down and only God knows if it will become a tradition for the great grandchildren. Below is a picture (actually two pictures together to show one of the quilts). Finally got smart and had the mothers pick out the colors and fabric. The animals are a fish, a camel, a dove, a dog or a donkey, a turkey and a lion.

This type of quilt has been around for many years and I found the pattern in a very old magazine. It is called the Sam Henry quilt and I have no idea where the original idea came from.

Traditions can be lots of fun to establish can be alot of fun to discuss and establish especially if you do it as a family. Older family, new family, blended family. Let everyone enter into the discussion. Why not think of it as a guessing game, which each family member has to participate. Drop all suggestions in a hat and draw.

Working on the big question, are you organized or not?

Becoming organized is an ongoing process and it is so easy to slip up and slide back into your old ways. Even when you know the key to a better outcome is organization and to finish one thing completely before starting another. As a multi-tasker it is difficult to change, maintain and support organization day in and day out.

We all know, or have heard about practice makes perfect, so maybe none of us has practiced enough to get the concept down in our heads or brains. Getting the bed made right away in the morning, even if no one is going to see it. Keeping the kitchen clean are two things that I am better organized at, but not much more. So my plan is to try, try again and hope I will make some progress.

You are welcome to join me in this organization thing. My plan is to focus on the paper side of things as that is what always seems to get out of hand. Here are some thoughts that have been running through my mind that might help you and me also.

  1. Going to the grocery store with a list. I am getting famous for forgetting the list, and the coupons. Went to the store for milk!! Got many other things, but no milk. LIST! COUPONS!
  2. Selecting a certain day or time to see that all bills are paid timely, automatically. Set up donations online, so that we can give when possible .
  3. Going through junk mail as soon as it comes !. Be careful that you do not throw out something important, like information from a physician’s office or some paper that has to filled out before you can get a procedure done.
  4. Try to really work harder on menu planning. It is such a pain.
  5. Work on getting my office to it’s organized look.
