Starting with an Advent calendar or an Advent game. As a family make an Advent wreath. Make it a tradition in your home, Fun for the kids but will also help them to remember . Be sure you put out your manager, leaving the Baby Jesus until the last moment. Don’t forget to give thanks before you eat reminding everyone that food is a blessing. Share what you can when you can.

Think on Christmas about some fun things you can do when your family is far away and social distancing is still being recommended. I know that is not the same as seeing them, but try to stay positive and use your new found technology to see each other and say Happy Holiday, whatever way you celebrate in your home.

Another Christmas, when we had snow. So pretty it was and really enjoyable. Sledding was the main attraction and our relatives from Texas had fun, fun, fun. They were however cold. Hot chocolate and assorted cookies.

Be creative this Christmas, more than ever before. Plan small fun things to do, when everyone is done looking at gifts and getting restless.

What do you think the woman in your life would like for Christmas ? If you honestly don’t know maybe the following might help you.

Essential Oils – Young Living is my oil of choice and I have had some really good results with ten oils I use. The are also many other good selections available for those interested. There are differs that would make wonderful gifts.

Got my teeth cleaned last week. A procedure I just dread. The hygienist had a scent diffusing in the treatment room. It was not a heavy scent and I found I was so much calmer while getting my teeth cleaned, which believe me is not joy.

Young living essential oils make a wonderful fun with a small diffusers and some really relaxing scents. Perhaps a scent to remind you of walking along trails in hiking areas. What about the smell of ginger essential oil that reminds you of old fashioned gingerbread cookies. Christmas spirit essential oil has a nice citrus smell . Clove essential oil is great. It has such a nice smell and is often used in a nice blend to alleviate aches and pains experienced as we age.

Cold weather is fast approaching and things that leave a cozy, marvelously warm feeling a fabulous idea. Young living might fit the bill with some lovely scents, nice makeup, any of their cleaning products and we can not forget the relaxation items, such as bath salts.

Always remember life continues with it’s ups and downs even if the holidays are around the corner. Beautiful babies continue to be born, our growing children need to be fed, surgeries are ongoing, people are looking for jobs or loosing jobs. Churches are encouraging people to remember their religious beliefs, and people still die no matter how much we wish they wouldn’t.

Does part of your preparation of life, especially at the holiday times, include a time for mental relaxation? All the hype on the radio and television, plus the chaos in your own home leaves you restless, anxious and wanting some time to invest in your own health and time for relaxation. Here are some tips you might be able to use:

  • Invest in a yoga class.
  • Reflect on a positive quote daily.
  • Read a good book. One that transports you to a time of relaxation. Not a thriller that leaves you tingling, and unable to sleep.
  • Watch less TV. It gets so boring anyway.
  • Promote good health to your family members, setting the positive example for them.
  • Share some good recipes
  • Look for information on good health.
  • Spirituality -Needed now more than ever. 2020 has definitely been different year. Share like you have never shared before. Share with family, friends and others.
  • Help prepare a meal for a family in need. Do your children understand there are other families hurting out there.
  • Give to a special charity.
  • Go and visit someone who is home bound, in a nursing home or a hospital. If the virus is still with us, design some cards, have your children help. Pack them in a box and send them to the person you love.
  • Be a volunteer. Show respect of others and their traditions.
  • Be safe! Don’t become careless with the safety of your family and yourself.
  • Try an essential oil. You might be pleasantly surprised.
