Coffee cups, tea cups with lots of funny, loving sayings. Start a gift basket with a couple of cups.

A gift of fun. Start with a cup or two with a great saying on it. One of my favorite cups is the one that says – Mom, no matter what life throws at you, at least you don’t have ugly children. How about the one that says Daddy, I may find my prince, but you will always be my KING.

Start a gift basket with any two mugs for your parents, grandparents, an always there friend. Pick out your font and the text you want. Add some of the following to your basket: coffee and tea, or hot chocolate, sweeteners and creams, a soft cuddly blanket, a good book and a wonderful movie.

Holidays, be organized, come up with some surprises for everyone.

The food is done, the kitchen is cleaned and you find your family is getting restless. So be prepared. Have everyone put their cell phones away. Turn off the TV, let the fun begin. You are ready for the troops no matter what Your part is to do the work before hand. What do I mean by work? You have been working your little tushie off. Thank you.

BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS

Lists – you must use lists. It has become priority for all of us. Menu list, shopping list for holiday groceries and of course the gift lists. Add to that list any school and church functions, dance recitals etc, so you do not miss anything.

Charity – Come up with a charitable ideas for the holidays, such as feeding a family, donating time to a soup kitchen or organization serving a Thanksgiving or Christmas meal to the needy.

Christmas list – be very specific about how many gifts and the cost of each. Older family members can be very helpful, if they have done their research on where to purchase. Make it a fun thing especially for the younger ones. DESIGN A LIST FOR EVERYONE TO USE. CALL IT THE CHRISTMAS LIST. Could even do after eating on Thanksgiving if you have no guests.

Remember what traditions your family loves and even if they are lots of work do them. However assign jobs early so you all can enjoy.

Come up with some fun game- Thanksgiving or Christmas bingo. Come up with your own question and answer game. Play a hidden treasure game with the little ones. Hide one of the stocking stuffers you got for them.

Purchase all your supplies timely so you are not running around at the last minute.

ON THE HOLIDAY

REMEMBER WHAT THE HOLIDAYS ARE ABOUT. A blessing for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Set the table, make it pretty and memorable. Have your younger ones display their holiday designs on a poster board for everyone to enjoy.

After eating and cleaning up. When that restless time arrives, start with your game surprises. If you are lucky it may snow and you can include sledding and of course ice skating. Hot chocolate before bedtime and the end of a perfect day.

Just a thought to end with. Throw in a visit to those who cannot join you. Call those who are far away. Remember someone who is lonely.

Fun Things for the holidays and your little ones.

Little ones love to play house and really enjoy a kitchen of their own. Such fun learning how to bake and cook. Here is another suggestion an inside playhouse, decorated like a small cottage. Play fun for hours. Moana a beautiful Disney doll, however read up on the necklace, before purchasing. Books, books and more books. Introduce your child to reading early. What a wonderful way to relax. Hope you find some of these ideas helpful.

Shein, Shein, Look at Shein.

SHEIN! SHEIN! LOOK AT SHEIN!

All kinds of teddies.  Teddy sweatshirts,  teddy hoodies, teddy coats and teddy outerwear.  The fabric reminds me of what the cuddly teddy bears look like.

Leopard patterns seems to be the thing.  There is a leopard quartz sweater teddy sweater, a leopard drawstring hooded teddy jacket, a two tone leopard teddy sweatshirt.  The teddy hoodies are available in different colors.  If you get really cold in the winter there is a zip up teddy lined puffer coat.

Fun looking through the various teddies trying to decide which one would the eye-catching one that appeals to your teen age daughter, niece or even yourself.  Don’t forget you deserve a present also.

These teddies can be worn with shorts, jeans, designer jeans and some would even look good with slacks.  Add a funky hat and of course those designer boots you want.

Everything just waiting for you to stop by and get several outfits to wear during this coming holiday season.    #Affiliate.

Ups and downs of life.

Sad and good times are often put together. Went to a viewing this last week of a 39 year old woman, we have known since she was born. A very sad time for everyone and one of those where we ask God to help us understand. These are the times when you need your faith to help you.

The good part of the whole thing, we saw many many old friends we have not seen for a long time. It was so nice seeing them and getting brought up to date on what is going on in their lives. Also a good memory tester. A couple of times I had to say, remember the face, but not the name. Please help me.

Also got to visit with one of our daughters, Mary and her husband Jeff. They took us out to dinner. It was nice to relax and visit.

The moral of the story, you know not the time or place the Lord will call you. Be prepared.

If you found this blog interesting, come to my website, or find me Pinterest at selectionsfrombarb.com and start following me. Have lots of interesting and fun things for you to enjoy.
Take care and enjoy this lovely day.

A wonderful, awesome teacher or teacher’s aide.

Here are some gift ideas for those wonderful, thought inspiring, dedicated members of the teaching profession who return to their jobs, day after day, when they are sometimes very discouraged by disinterest of some as to what is going on with their child’s education.

Great Grand Baby! One month old, Elena Marie

Beautiful new great grand baby, Elena Marie. Sweet, pretty, eyes open, most of the time, looking at who ever is holding her, lots of nice black hair. She generously held court at our house, this last Saturday. We only had one little ( could have been big) problem. The forgotten diaper bag. One of our daughters laughingly said, don’t you have an emergency bag at your house!

Her grandfather went to the store and got a small bag of diapers. Her uncle, said I have a small bag of diapers at home that someone bought for gag birthday gift for me. So we were covered.

Moral of the story, we will be fixing up an emergency bag for our house. Now here is what we are going to put in that bag:

  • Buy a bag or make a bag. Haven’t decided what to do yet.
  • A changing pad to lie the baby on, so she can be changed anywhere.
  • A blanket for Mom to throw over her shoulder for some privacy, if nursing.
  • An emergency small bottle in case we are no longer nursing ,but ready to start on formula. A can of formula,.
  • Diapers – a small bag of diapers to get us through a crisis situation.
  • Wipes, to keep the bottom area clean.
  • Small jar of vaseline, to soothe the bottom.
  • A pacifier. I am a believer in pacificers. Baby has been fed, burped, nice and dry, but crying . Why not make them comfortable. Maybe a nap is in order.
  • Change of outfit, including a onsie, in case of a throw up. Maybe a baby blanket.

That is what my emergency diaper bag is going to have in it. We will keep it at our house and as our family continues to grow, it will get tons of use.
