Kindness, is there ever too much?

Word to live by in my mindset is #kindness. There is not enough of it in this world. It is hard to be kind to family and sometimes others who touch our lives in some strange way. We do not listen to what others have to say, without an unkind thought running through our minds. Our teenages are so affected by this lack of kindness from others, peers and adults. It is causing a great deal of stress in their lives. A lot of the adult population is right there with our teenagers.

What can we work on as a society to help change that? Stop being so judgemental? Don’t know if that is the answer, all I know is a little kindness goes a long way. Some acceptance into a group or a few friends.

Try being kind. It won’t hurt you.

  • Know that God is pleased with you when you are kind.
  • Do not fake your interest, instead show a real interest in that person.
  • Never gush!! How about being frank, but friendly and sincere.
  • Don’t let this be a one day thing, It should be an ongoing interaction that you really enjoy.
  • Encourage professional intervention in a non-threatening way.

We all have days where we struggle with out feelings, so maybe your kindness will be returned.

Dress for success with any job interview.

Success should always be a number one priority in any #jobinterview. Otherwise why would you want to go and be interviewed.

I don’t often blog about fashion, but it is an essential part of #home and #family. Looking at my boards on Pinterest, I noticed one outfit that was saved repeatedly. A #beautiful, #classic #fabulous outfit including #accessories. It is a #skirt, # blazer #sweater all coordinated in rich colors of brown and rust ( I believe), with a wide belt , a big gold buckle on it. Tights, fashionable boots and a great handbag. Please go and look at my #fashion board at http://www.selectionsfrombarb.com.

Reason for the blog, it made me think how many people do not dress appropriately for a job interview. Really rather sad when you think about it. So here are some tips:

  • Don’t wear jeans, shorts, clothing that is too tight, skirts that are too short, tops that allow too much cleavage to show. May not bother you but would certainly bother the interviewer.
  • What about beards, long hair and tattoo’s? Not going to touch that one, but how about washed and combed hair and beards. Does your beard need trimming? What about a haircut? Maybe cover some of the tattoo’s, your preference.
  • Women, use good taste in your makeup. Moderation, maybe a nice toned down but pretty look.
  • Make sure your shoes are clean and polished. Can wear a nice boot if outfit you are wearing is appropriate for boots. Cover your toes, even if you think your toenails are beautiful. They may be but may be a No! No! Depends on what type of job you are interviewing for.
  • Casual may be very appropriate for some interviews. How about khaki pants and a cotton work shirt, and shoes, instead of jeans, a tee shirt and flip, flops.

Good luck and I hope some of my suggestions help you. You can find numerous such suggestions under how to # interview, and what to wear #jobinterviewing.

Gifts, awesome, intriguing, interesting and fun.

How do you find gifts for those near and dear to you? Agree it is a challenge and time always seems to get away from us.

What about your husband, or boyfriend, significant other. Are you already being challenged what to get without spending a fortune or standing in line at a store? Buying something and then thinking, they won’t really like or enjoy it.

Life is like a ski slope, sometimes you just go in the wrong direction.

Life is like a# ski slope, it has it’s ups and downs. Some times the ups are wonderful, sometimes they are just as upsetting as the downs. The first time you ride up in the# ski lift you are excited, scared, afraid of making a fool of yourself, but determined to ski down that slope.

I remember when one of our daughters was trying to learn to ski, she just could not master the pulley rope on the beginning slope. She just kept going back to the bottom. We all left her and she continued trying. By golly, late afternoon she finally made it to the top and all the workers came out and cheered her. She truly deserved that cheer. She never gave up.

Blogging is like that pulley rope giving us, ups and downs, It never gives up on us, but the critical key here is to keep trying. If your blog is slow, then figure out why it doesn’t become a snow board and take off. Take your blog apart piece by piece. What is my #niche? What don’t I truly understand and what can I do to better understand? Who really is my audience? It certainly is something most of us have to do.

You see where someone makes all find of money in such a short time, lets face it, we all say, why them and why not me? That is a good question. If you find the answer, please share. Keep trying, keep learning and keep having some fun .

Life is an adventure, don’t make it shorter than it already is.

My motto! Take one day at a time.

Enjoy each event in your life, each birth, each birthday, school plays, dance recitals, ball game, volley ball game, soccer and lacrosse game. I know I missed something important, but what I am getting at treasure those memories! Do a scrap book, let your child do a scrapbook . Remember the little tickles, stumbles if you will that make each event so memorable, so much fun.

Thinks of these things, the forgotten line in the play, your child a few steps behind at the dance recital, the strike out at the ball game, the tackle that wasn’t made, the goal that helped the other team win. Life is such an adventure.

Be the biggest supporter there ever was for your child/children. Teach your child to remember it’s not winning that is important, but how you play the game or dance the dance. It is the joy, the light in their eyes, the smile on their face, when they see you there that makes the moment. Sometimes you just have wipe away the tears and smile, even if your gut aches for them.

Remembering with those you love later in life is so enlightening. Something you thought so trivial , your child, now an adult, will tell you what a wonderful event it was. Cherish those moments. Life is an adventure and you can’t go backwards.

Orange flowered wallpaper, a mug and a crochet stitch. Imagination!

Update from blog of October 2018

Crazy isn’t it? Wondered several times why these 3 pins were pinned and re pinned. There is no particular relationship to# blogging, recipes, or health related. Totally eye opening! Now don’t get me wrong I loved that they were re pinned. I # pinned them originally because they all made me smile, anticipation was there and I could not wait to see what happened next.

Here we are a year later and they are still being pinned. Now honestly the # wallpaper could possible become a pin with some #imagination. The mug always makes me smile and so should you and who doesn’t like learning something new, a crochet stitch.

Viola, what can this all do to help you? Bring out the creativity in your soul? Think how you want to improve on your blog, be different, think out of the box, but continue to grow and learn all you can about # pinning and# blogging. Do you totally understand keywords, long tailed keywords and SEO (Search Engine Optimization)? No, then this is the time.

Get busy, have fun, smile from time to time and enjoy.

Still on a journey to learn more about essential oils. Read some of my other blogs. It might become a journey for you also.
